OAKLAND — Two men killed each other Wednesday night after they shot one another during an argument, authorities said.

The shootings happened about 10 p.m. in the parking lot of a Jack in the Box on the 2400 block of International Boulevard, police said.

Authorities did not identify either of the two men early Thursday.

Police said one of the men is a 29-year-old Richmond resident who died at the scene. A 42-year-old Oakland resident died at the hospital, police said.

Police have not said what caused the argument, which caused both of the men to pull out guns and shoot.

The killings bring to 22 the number of homicides that Oakland police have investigated in 2022. At this time in 2021, police had investigated 30 homicides.

The California Highway Patrol also has investigated two homicides on freeways within city limits.
