The course is challenging, the lighting distinctively magical, and the challenges specifically wizardly, but be warned — the use of wands to magic golf balls into the holes will be frowned upon.

Otherwise, it’s business as usual for a miniature golf course, even one called Potion Putt, inspired by — but for copyright reasons not named — Harry Potter.

Each “room” on the course has a theme that reflects the magical world. You’ll visit Merlin’s Emporium, where you’ll need to avoid putting into a potion spilling from an overturned cauldron. In another, you’ll putt by candlelight amid bulky castle turrets.

Then there’s that giant spider, lit in deep purple lights, to get past.

Potion Putt has been conjured by Hidden San Francisco, which is part of an international marketplace that stages one-of-a-kind events and pop-up celebrations. Potion Putt has also had a successful run in Denver.

Other Hidden events hosted in San Francisco include the Pet Selfie Museum, the Magical Brunch, the Bubbles Festival, Bikes on Ice and Mission Possible: Escape Room.

Potion Putt apparated into SVN West, 10 Van Ness Ave., and is set to magically disappear on April 30, 2023.

In addition to the mini golf, Potion Putt also offers drinks and refreshments, including cauldron cocktails, butterscotch beer, alcoholic libations and magical mocktails. The course is family friendly, although those younger than 21 are banished after 5 p.m.

Wizard golf tickets are $18 per person and include 9 holes of magical golf. You can book your tickets here.
