Building on a polymer frame, the Stoeger STR-9C fits nicely between a full-size and sub-compact. Although the STR-9C ships with a medium backstrap, other backstraps can be purchased, allowing users to dial in the fit.
Atop the polymer frame is the precision-machined Nitride-treated slide. The slide features both forward and rear cocking serrations for easy manipulation in adverse conditions. Housed within the slide is the 3.8-inch barrel, chambered in 9mm.
In addition, snag-resistant three-dot dovetail sights provide the primary aiming solution, when an optic is not in place. However, the factory optic-cut slide includes four mounting plates for the most common optic mounting patterns. As a result, users can select from their favorite optics on the market. Similarly, a three-slot Picatinny rail sits just forward of the trigger guard, allowing for other optic options or accessories.
The STR-9C comes with your choice of a 10- or 13-round magazine and the reversible magazine release allows for right- or left-handed shooters. Also, a tactile loaded-chamber indicator notifies you when a round is chambered and ready to fire. Correspondingly, a trigger safety ensures that the striker-fired pistol doesn’t fire until ready.
