A 28-year-old man was shot to death in East Oakland on Thursday night, authorities said.

Few details on the killing were available. Police said they found the man with at least one bullet wound in the 7300 block of Lockwood Street about 10:34 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not release the man’s name as of early Friday morning.

The homicide is the 15th one this year investigated by Oakland police. The California Highway Patrol also has investigated two killings that have happened on freeways within the city limits.

A year ago at this time, police had investigated 25 homicides. They didn’t investigate their 26th homicide until March 2.

Police said they have not made any arrests relevant to the shooting, and they they do not have a motive.
