Two fatal shootings Thursday in San Francisco were reported by police.

• A man with a gunshot wound was found in the driver’s seat of a vehicle that had stopped around 1:10 a.m. on the Great Highway near Skyline Boulevard. Medics pronounced him dead at the scene.

It is believed he had been involved in an exchange of gunfire around 12:50 a.m. in the 4600 block of Irving Street, in the Outer Sunset neighborhood. A man whom police found shot at that site was taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

The name of the man who died has not been released.

• A person was fatally shot around 8:37 p.m. at the Civic Center BART station. The agency’s police arrested a suspect.

The station was closed after the shooting, causing major delays on the San Francisco line, and many people leaving the Warriors game had to take buses instead.

By 11:20 p.m., trains were again passing through the station, though not stopping. BART said Friday morning’s first trains would stop there as scheduled.
