SAN JOSE – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday in San Jose, police said.
The traffic collision was reported at 5:45 p.m. near Curtner and Canoas Garden avenues, according to the San Jose Police Department.
Police said the male pedestrian was taken to an area hospital, where he died of his injuries.
The death marked the city’s third roadway fatality of the year and the second to involve a pedestrian.
On Jan. 2, a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run near South White Road and East Hills Drive. A bicyclist was also killed in a hit-and-run near Queens Lane and Old Bayshore Highway on Jan. 5.
Units are currently in the area of Curtner Ave and Canoas Garden investigating a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian has life threatening injuries. Updates here when available.
