SAN JOSE – A pedestrian was in critical condition following a hit-and-run Friday night in San Jose, police said.
The traffic collision, which also involved two vehicles, was reported at 8:30 p.m. near Senter Road and Southside Drive, the San Jose Police Department said in a social media post.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital with injuries police initially described as life-threatening. In a follow-up post, police said the person had been stabilized but was in critical condition.
Police asked people to avoid the area. Traffic on southbound Senter Road was diverted while police conducted an investigation.
The hit-and-run follows two others this week that claimed the lives of a pedestrian and a bicyclist. The pedestrian was killed Sunday near South White Road and East Hills Drive and the bicyclist was killed Wednesday near Queens Lane and Old Bayshore Highway.
Units are currently at the scene of a hit-and-run traffic collision involving two vehicles and a pedestrian.
This occurred in the area of Senter Rd and Southside Dr.
The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
