Authorities say that the mother of a murdered 5-year-old girl reportedly sold her child as a sex slave before the child was brutally murdered.
Police charged 37-year-old Jeremy Tremain Williams in connection with the child’s death and charged 35-year-old Kristy Marie Siple with murder during a kidnapping, murder during rape, murder during sodomy, and human trafficking.
What are the details?
Authorities discovered the lifeless body of 5-year-old Kamarie Holland in December after Williams allegedly asphyxiated the child with a ligature.
A warrant against Siple — who also goes by Kristy Hoskins — states that the woman knowingly subjected the child to sexual servitude.
“She did agree with another person to pay her for having sexual intercourse and sodomy with her minor daughter,’’ the document states, according to AL.com.
The outlet reported that the horror unfolded on Dec. 13 when Kamarie Holland was visiting Siple. The child’s father, Corey Holland, had custody.
Siple told authorities that she awoke in the middle of the night to find her child gone and the front door wide open.
After a brief investigation, police named Williams — known to Siple as an acquaintance — as a potential suspect. Authorities quickly located Williams and a relative at a Phenix City, Alabama, motel, where they questioned the pair over the child’s disappearance. Authorities visited a previous Phenix City address for Williams, where they discovered the child’s body.
Williams was arrested and charged with capital murder of a person under the age of 14. More charges are expected, according to the report, including capital murder during a kidnapping, capital murder during a rape, capital murder during sodomy, and production of child pornography.
Siple previously denied having anything to do with the child’s murder.
“I’m a mommy and I did not have nothing to do with this,” she insisted following her daughter’s murder. “She was my life and I lived for her daily. She was my only daughter.”
Williams was previously charged with child abuse in 2009.
“This is a case that tugs at everybody’s heartstrings,’’ Russell County Chief Deputy District Attorney Rick Chancey said during a Wednesday news conference. “To go to that funeral the other day, it just breaks your heart to know that Kamarie is no longer with us.”
“Please, parents, take care of your kids, watch your kids,’’ Chancey added. “Be careful who your kids are around. I shouldn’t have to state that. This is a bad world and let’s take care of our kids.”
According to Fox News, Kamarie’s father said, “The amount of pain Kristy has caused by ripping Kamarie out of our lives will never cease. We are glad to see that she has been arrested. We are one step closer to justice for Kamarie. It’s our hope that justice is served. Kristy should receive whatever the maximum penalty she can get.”
“She’s a monster,” Holland continued. “A real mother protects and would die for her children. Kristy is a monster. My family and I will continue to wrestle with the loss of losing our angel Kamarie. We will ask that you continue to make your news about her and the justice she deserves.”
