Utah Jazz star guard Donovan Mitchell will miss at least the next two games due to a left lower back strain, the team announced Sunday.
Mitchell will remain in Salt Lake City to receive treatment during the Jazz’s two-game road trip to San Antonio and Portland.
Mitchell suffered the strain during the first quarter of the Jazz’s Christmas night win over the Dallas Mavericks. He remained in the game, finishing with 33 points in 35 minutes.
Mitchell is averaging 25.4 points and 5.0 assists per game for the 23-9 Jazz, who are in third place in the Western Conference standings.
