EAST PALO ALTO — A 22-year-old resident was found shot inside a crashed car Friday night and later died, authorities said.

In a statement, police said officers responded to a report of ShotSpotter activity shortly after 11:30 p.m. Friday in the 900 block of Beech Street.

When officers arrived, they found a car that crashed through a fence and struck a Beech Street home’s front porch. Inside the car, officers found the unresponsive man and took him from the car to provide first aid before realizing he had been shot.

The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately available, pending next-of-kin notification.
