California Gov. Gavin Newsom announced a $50,000 reward Monday for information in four separate unsolved cases around the state, including a fatal shooting of a San Pablo man last year.
Around 2 a.m. on June 12, 2020, officers responded to the Rumrill Gardens apartment complex, 1300 Rumrill Blvd., and found a man sitting in his vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The man, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was later identified as Shawn Tillis Jr., 27, a father of four children.
After investigators’ efforts to solve the case that summer first plateaued, a public request for assistance yielded suspect descriptions that led to sketch releases.
