SAN MATEO – Authorities on Wednesday morning arrested an 18-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of threatening the residents of a home in San Mateo.

The incident was reported at about 12:45 a.m. on the 700 block of Monte Diablo Avenue, near North El Dorado Street, the San Mateo Police Department said in a news release.

Officers arrived at the scene and ordered the man and boy to stop. They refused and the boy punched one officer in the face, police said.

After a brief struggle, officers arrested the boy, police said. The man, meanwhile, was arrested without incident.

An “imitation firearm” and a weapon magazine were found on the boy and a “pipe shaped like a baton” was found on the man, police said.

The boy was booked into Hillcrest Juvenile Hall and the man was booked into San Mateo County jail on criminal threats and conspiracy charges. In addition, the boy was booked on charges of resisting an executive officer and battery on a peace officer and the man was booked on charges of resisting, delaying or obstructing a peace officer, possession of a baton or leaded cane and possession of a deadly weapon with intent to assault.
