A man was shot to death Tuesday evening in a Hayward neighborhood bordering Dry Creek Pioneer Regional Park, police said Thursday.

Officers responded at 6:16 p.m. following a report of the shooting near the 31000 block of Trevor Avenue. They found the victim inside a vehicle. He had gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name has not been released.

Trevor Avenue is a residential street between Mission Boulevard and Dry Creek park at Hayward’s south end.

In June, a woman — Rachelle Gouailhardou, 20 — was fatally shot in her family’s home a block from the site of Tuesday’s homicide. It is suspected that she knew her assailant.
