Dr. Anthony Fauci said he was astounded that Fox News had not disciplined their host for comparing him to infamous Nazi doctor Josef Mengele.
Fauci made the comments while appearing on MSNBC Thursday evening.
“The response is what so many people throughout the country and the world are responding to that absolutely preposterous and disgusting comparison that she made. It’s an insult to all the people who suffered and died under the Nazi regime in the concentration camps,” replied Fauci.
“It’s unconscionable what she said. She was being totally slanderous to me and, as usual, had no idea what she was talking about, saying it’s as benign as flu, when did ever influenza kill 750, 000 Americans?” he added.
The chief White House medical adviser was referring to Lara Logan, host of “Lara Logan Has No Agenda” on Fox Nation.
Logan made the comments against Fauci while appearing on “Fox News Primetime” on Monday.
“What you see on Dr. Fauci, this is what people say to me, that he doesn’t represent science to them. He represents Josef Mengele, the Nazi doctor who did experiments on Jews during the Second World War and in the concentration camps,” she explained.
“And I am talking about people all across the world are saying this,” Logan continued. “Because the response from COVID, what it has done to countries everywhere, what it has done to civil liberties, the suicide rates, the poverty, it has obliterated economies.”
Fauci went on to call on Fox News to discipline Logan.
“What I find striking is how she gets no discipline whatsoever from the Fox network. How they can let her say that with no comment and no disciplinary action. I’m astounded by that,” said Fauci.
The comments from Logan prompted MSNBC host Joy Reid to accuse some conservatives of being a part of a “death cult” for their opposition for some of the government response to the coronavirus pandemic.
