SAN JOSE — A bicyclist died Monday morning in a collision with a vehicle on Bascom Avenue near the Interstate 880 ramp, according to San Jose police.
The crash was reported at 10:18 a.m. near the San Jose-Santa Clara border, police said. The rider died at the scene.
Police said the driver involved in the crash stopped afterward and did not show any visible signs of driving impaired. Additional details were not immediately released early Monday afternoon.
The death marks the city’s 55th roadway fatality of the year and the seventh involving a bicyclist who died, according to data compiled by this news organization.
