SANTA CLARA – For the second time in less than a week, a shoe store in Santa Clara has been burglarized by a large group of people, police said.

The latest incident was reported at about 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Officers arrived at The Fix Kicks on the 2000 block of El Camino Real to find 15 to 30 people fleeing in numerous vehicles, the Santa Clara Police Department said in a news release Monday.

The same business was also burglarized early on the morning of Nov. 23, police said.

During both incidents, a large group of people forced their way inside the store and stole footwear and apparel, police said.

No injuries have been reported as a result of the incidents and no one has been arrested.

The Bay Area has seen a spate of similar incidents of large-scale group theft. In a statement, Santa Clara police Chief Pat Nikolai said his agency was taking the burglaries in his city “very seriously.”

“We have several potential promising leads from the initial burglary and are actively investigating all leads,” Nikolai said.

The Fix Kicks was closed Monday.

“We don’t know when we plan on opening again,” the store said in an Instagram post. “We will keep everyone posted. Thank you all for understanding and thank you all for the support through the good times and the bad.”
