OAKLAND — A man shot Nov. 2 outside a relative’s home in East Oakland has died, police said Saturday.
The name of the man, a 35-year-old Oakland resident, has not yet been released.
He died on Thanksgiving morning at a hospital where he had been in grave condition since the shooting, authorities said.
The shooting was reported about 2:10 a.m. Nov. 2 on the 5000 block of Melrose Avenue, a residential area near 51st Avenue.
Police said the man was sitting in a parked vehicle when he was approached by someone on foot who began shooting at him. The suspect fled in a vehicle before police arrived.
Police have not released a motive for the killing and have not announced any arrests.
The Nov. 2 killing marked the 125th death this year that Oakland police are investigating as a homicide.
