A 17-year-old boy was fatally shot in East Oakland on Saturday night, authorities said.
The teen, whose name has not been released, was found with multiple gunshot wounds about 8:19 p.m. Saturday in the 3900 block of Carrington Street, a primarily residential area, police said.
He lived in Oakland, but police have not said if he lived in the area of the shooting. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have not said if he was killed by somebody in a vehicle or someone who confronted him on the street.
A motive for the shooting is under investigation. No arrests have been made.
