From one Avenger to another, Hawkeye star Jeremy Renner is congratulating Ant-Man star Paul Rudd for getting named by People magazine as the Sexiest Man Alive. At the age of 52, Rudd was recently announced as the newest person to be given the title, which is given out once per year by the publication. Posting a photo to Instagram, Renner was among the first to celebrate Rudd’s win, as you can see below.

In the image, Paul Rudd embraces Renner as the two pose with smiles on their faces. Text has been added to the photo to depict it as a movie poster for a film called 50 Year Old Virgins. Renner says in the caption, “Congrats to my friend Paul Rudd, ‘sexiest man alive’!!! From your friend, who looks tremendous, in the dark… like ‘zero light handsome.'”

While 50 Year Old Virgins is not a real movie that’s in development, fans of both of these actors will see them back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe soon enough. That moment will come very quickly for Jeremy Renner, who stars in his own solo series Hawkeye alongside Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. Vera Farmiga, Tony Dalton, and Florence Pugh also star. It is scheduled to be released for streaming on Disney+ on Nov. 24, concluding on Dec. 22. As seen in the teasers, it will be a holiday-set series.

Paul Rudd is also heading back to the big screen for the sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Directed by Peyton Reed and penned by Jeff Loveness, the third Ant-Man movie also brings back Evangeline Lilly as the Wasp with Jonathan Majors playing Kang the Conqueror. Rudd has teased Kang’s arrival with production underway on the sequel, suggesting Majors will blow people away with his performance.

“I’ve loved everything he’s done, and I see what he’s doing in this, and I’m knocked out by it,” Rudd told Variety. “It is really fun to bring new people into the fold, and the enthusiasm that people have is palpable.”

Of getting named the Sexiest Man Alive, Paul Rudd also told People, “I do have an awareness, enough to know that when people hear that I’d be picked for this, they would say, ‘What?’ This is not false humility. There are so many people that should get this before me… I’m going to lean into it hard. I’m going to own this. I’m not going to try to be like ‘Oh, I’m so modest.’ I’m getting business cards made. But all of my friends will destroy me, and I expect them to, and that’s why they’re my friends.”

He added, “And I figure I’ll be on a lot more yachts. I’m excited to expand my yachting life. And I’ll probably try to get better at brooding in really soft light. I like to ponder. I think this is going to help me become more inward and mysterious. And I’m looking forward to that.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania won’t be released until February 2023, but fans won’t have to wait that long to see the Sexiest Man Alive back on the big screen. He will appear in a major role in the new sequel Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which hits theaters on Nov. 19.
