Courtesy of Disney, Chip ‘n’ Dale: Rescue Rangers is getting the feature-length treatment starring John Mulaney and Andy Samberg as our loveably mischief-making chipmunks of our youth. The upcoming film will be a hybrid live-action/CG animated feature based on everyone’s favorite animated chipmunks. Disney+ took to Instagram to share the news, captioning their post, “A &̶r&̶e&̶b&̶o&̶o&̶t&̶ comeback 30 years in the making. Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, an Original Movie, is streaming Spring 2022 on #DisneyPlus. #DisneyPlusDay”

Fans of Chip and Dale rejoiced! One says, “I’m not ready!!! Can’t wait to show my god daughter this show.” Another, “This script is very clever and smart. Can’t wait.”

Others were squeaking with delight! “I SEE A DARKWING DUCK SCRIPT DISNEY IT BETTER STAR BILL HADER” and “IS THAT A DARKWING DUCK SCRIPT IN THE BACKGROUND?” and “DARKWING DUCK???

But my first response echoed this. “A chipmunk sized script! ????” That script is so cute! If you look closely, the ‘monks point out “It’s a comeback 30 years in the making.” That script looks like it’s been through the wringer!

Disney+ also took to Twitter to share a little video of John Mulaney and Andy Samberg announcing the news. Admitting that the tiny script was “shockingly hard to read” they still seem pretty pumped. Samberg quipped, “Now, I know what you’re thinking, ‘Another reboot, no! But our film isn’t a reboot, it’s a comeback.”
