OAKLAND — One man was fatally shot and three other men were wounded in a Friday night drive-by shooting in East Oakland, authorities said.
The name of the 25-year-old man who was killed has not yet been released.
The three other men, two in their 30s and one in his 40s, were in stable condition, authorities said.
Police have not said if any of the victims knew each other.
The shooting, which was recorded on ShotSpotter technology, happened about 8:20 p.m. Friday in the 8400 block of International Boulevard.
The men were standing outside on the sidewalk when a vehicle drove by and at least one person inside began shooting at them, authorities said.
The 25-year-old man and one of the other men were taken to a hospital by ambulance from the scene. The 25-year-old man died at 12:04 a.m. Saturday, police said.
The other two victims got their own transportation to a hospital.
Multiple shell casings were recovered at the scene, authorities said.
Police have not yet released a motive for the shooting or said who they believe the intended target was. No arrests have been made.
The killing is the 118th death being investigated as a homicide this year by Oakland police. Last year, Oakland police investigated 109 homicides in the city. There were 131 homicides in Oakland in 2012, the highest total since 148 homicides were investigated in 2006.
