State of the City
Saratoga Mayor Yan Zhao is set to give the 2021 State of the City address on Saturday, Nov. 6, at 1:30 p.m. in the Joan Pisani Community Center, 19655 Allendale Ave.
Zhao will share city updates, celebrate accomplishments and discuss priorities and initiatives. Guests can also enjoy games, performances, treats and a resource fair.

‘The Big Lie’
On Nov. 11, a year after the 2020 presidential election, the Saratoga Foothill Club will host a discussion on why the results are still being disputed.
Dr. Larry Gerston, political science professor emeritus at San Jose State University, will address the significance of claims of voter fraud, dubbed by many election experts as “The Big Lie,” and its possible effects on the 2022 midterm elections and the 2024 presidential election.
The talk, part of the club’s lecture series, is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Saratoga Foothill Club, 20399 Park Place. Attendees must show proof of a COVID-19 vaccinations and wear masks inside the club.

Warm clothing drive
Saratoga Rotary is holding a Warm Clothing Drive for homeless clients of Martha’s Kitchen in San Jose’s Willow Glen neighborhood. Items being collected include sweatshirts, sweaters, jackets, coats and new socks. Children’s outerwear is also needed.
Items may be dropped in the collection box in the lobby of the Joan Pisani Community Center, 19655 Allendale Ave.
