Young Thug — the hip-hop star who sits atop the Billboard 200 with the new album “Punk” — won’t take the stage this year at Outside Lands in San Francisco.

The highly influential rapper, now with three No. 1 albums to his credit, was originally scheduled to perform at 5 p.m. on Day 2 (Saturday, Oct. 30) on the festival’s big Lands End Stage. It was one of the most eagerly anticipated sets of the three-day festival, which runs through Oct. 31.

Festival organizers announced earlier today that the set was not going to happen.

“We are deeply disappointed that we have just been informed Young Thug will not make his scheduled performance at Outside Lands,” a post read on the festival Twitter account, @sfoutsidelands.

Organizers did not give a reason for the cancellation.

It’s a big loss, given that Young Thug ranks among the most popular artists today. He just put out the sophomore full-length “Punk” on Oct. 15 and it debuted at No. 1, reportedly moving some 90,000 album-equivalent units in its first week of release.

Fans will, however, still get to hear some hip-hop in that time slot.

“We are delighted to announce that Aminé has been added to the lineup and will perform at Lands End at 5 p.m.,” the tweet continued.

Amine — aka Adam Aminé Danie — is a definite rising star star in the genre. The Portland, Oregon, native, now based in Los Angeles, is best known for the 2016 multiplatinum single “Caroline,” but he has also seen both of his studio albums — 2017’s “Good for You” and 2020’s “Limbo” — reach the top 40 on the Billboard 200.

It’s the second major cancellation at Outside Lands this weekend. On Friday, organizers announced electronic music musician and YouTube star Marc Rebillet was forced to withdraw from the Oct. 30 festival lineup due to injury, and will be replaced by singer, musician and comedian Reggie Watts. That set is 7:10 p.m. on the Sutro Stage.
