OAKLAND — Two men were simultaneously carjacked and one was also robbed of personal items late Tuesday night at a North Oakland car wash, authorities said.
Neither man was injured and one of the taken vehicles was recovered early Wednesday morning.
The carjackings and robbery happened about 11:50 p.m. Tuesday at the Gold Coin Car Wash, 401 40th Street near Shafter Avenue.
An 18-year-old man was washing his girlfriend’s Honda Civic when he was approached from behind by a man with a gun who demanded the keys to the vehicle and drove away with it, authorities said.
A 20-year-old man who was washing his Mercedes was confronted at the same time by another gun-toting man who took the car as well as the man’s wallet and iPhone, authorities said.
The Honda was recovered early Wednesday morning in the 1800 block of San Pablo Avenue, police said.
Detailed descriptions of the suspects were not released.
