The meeting is open to the public. Masks are required for admittance.

Stud/ents merit recognition

Six Milpitas High School seniors are among approximately 16,000 semifinalists in the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship program. Brian Dinh, Aaryaman Jain, Hirva P. Shah, Ryan Z. Teoh, Chloe Q. Yeap and Rachel L. Yen are now in the running for some 7,500 scholarships worth $2,500 each that will be offered next spring.

High school juniors entered the program by taking the 2020 preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, which served as an initial screen of entrants. The nationwide pool of semifinalists, representing less than 1% of U.S. high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state.
