SANTA CLARA – The 49ers are off to a 2-0 start, and if that’s better than your fantasy football team, then you’ll want to see who to start and sit in Sunday’s home opener against the Green Bay Packers:
START HIM: WR Deebo Samuel
He’s merely the NFL’s leader in receiving yards. Samuel could get more points for you on jet sweeps considering the dearth of healthy running backs. Did you know Samuel ran for nearly 900 yards in high school before attending the University of South Carolina.
Three other nominees: TE George Kittle, K Robbie Gould, RB Trey Sermon
SIT HIM: RB Elijah Mitchell
A shoulder injury and a tough Eagles defense spoiled his starting debut a week ago, and he didn’t practice Wednesday. If Trey Sermon fully clears the concussion protocol, he might draw his first career start. The 49ers running back spot remains too volatile to buy fantasy stock.
Three other nominees: WR Trent Sherfield, WR Brandon Aiyuk, 49ers defense
