MENLO PARK — A man was stabbed multiple times in the Belle Haven neighborhood early Sunday, police said.
At about 1:39 a.m. on Sunday, Menlo Park police received a report of a stabbing that had just happened on the 1300 block of Sevier Avenue in the city’s Belle Haven neighborhood.
Officers who responded to the scene found a man lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds. Paramedics and emergency personnel were able to stabilize the victim and then transported him to the hospital for further medical care.
A preliminary investigation determined that the victim and the suspect were at a party when an argument ensued, police said.
During the argument, the suspect removed a knife from his pocket and then stabbed the victim multiple times before fleeing the area on foot toward Ivy Drive. Officers attempted to find the suspect during a search of the area but were unsuccessful.
The victim is currently being treated at a local hospital for what are being described as serious but not life-threatening injuries.
No further details were immediately available.
