OAKLAND — A 52-year-old was fatally shot in East Oakland on Tuesday morning.
His name has not yet been released. He is believed to be an Oakland resident.
The man was found with multiple gunshot wounds about 7:42 a.m. Tuesday behind a business in the 4600 block of East 12th Street, a light industrial area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Why the man was at the site and a motive for the shooting are under investigation. No arrests have been announced.
The killing is the 93rd homicide investigated by Oakland police this year, and the fourth since Monday. Last year at this time police had investigated 68 homicides in the city. There were 109 total homicides in the city last year.
