The Hornady Security RAPiD Vehicle Safe
Like their RAPiD Safe Night Guard, the Vehicle Safe is activated via RFID for quick access. The real benefit here is that your RFID tags are programmable for select family members and can open both safes. This prevents unauthorized access, while granting authorized access to both safes with one RFID solution.
The Vehicle Safe includes an RFID watchband, two RFID stickers, RFID key fob and two circular barrel keys. Consequently, the barrel keys ensure access to your firearm in the event of a system failure or loss of power. In the event of an RFID issue, you can also access the safe via a four- to six-digit security code. The code is entered using the digital keypad on the top of the safe. The Hornady RAPiD Vehicle Safe is powered by four AAA batteries or the 12-volt car adaptor.
Utilizing a patent-pending inflatable bladder, installation is quick and easy and does not require modifications to your vehicle. The bladder slides between the seat and console and inflates to the shape of the interior. An included security cable then wraps around the vehicles seat frame to secure the safe from theft.
When activated, the spring-loaded door opens to expose a padded sleeve presenter for multiple firearm sizes. Additionally, when open the padded sleeve presenter moves to a readily accessible angle, ensuring quick purchase on your firearm.
