After holding a virtual show during 2020, members of the Association of Clay and Glass Artists of California will be back in person for a socially distanced outdoor show in Palo Alto.

The grounds of the Palo Alto Art Center will become a gallery for the Sept. 11-12 Clay & Glass Festival, with more than 100 juried artists presenting both fine art and functional pieces.

“For 28 years, we have celebrated the beauty and whimsy of our California artists’ clay and glass creations, and we very much appreciate the wonderful past patronage,” Cheryl Costantini, ACGA board president, said in the show announcement. “We are all excited to be back together in person and hope the crowds return to support our artists.”

Founded as the Association of San Francisco Potters in 1945, the ACGA now boasts more than 300 members, including artists, students, galleries and patrons of the arts.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, with food trucks onsite both days. Admission is free.

Attendees are encouraged to wear masks outdoors and observe social distancing.

Street parking is available near the venue, or attendees can pull up to take advantage of the valet service.
